I was evaluating between FL, Ableton and Cubase over the summer and ended up settling on Cubase. I have been using Cubase almost exclusively ever since. I love Cubase workflow and workflows. Track matching, MIDI and audio recording, a simple to use window manager, and amazingly powerful instruments. It doesnt have all the features of other platforms, and it doesnt try to be everything to everybody. Its a rock solid DAW with excellent workflow and editing. Ive used it for multiple recording projects and Im extremely happy with the results.

I dont need ANY of those crappy plugins that just stop my sequence from playing at the start of a song. Cubase is my first love and i dont think i will ever switch. You can just get the AudioFire plug in and that does it. I also dont understand all the chorus and phaser plugins. Why would i need one. Just get the sliders. I do need the Melodian thing but as for the rest I dont understand why you would want it. Cubase just works.

I have tried everything in the way of recording and mixing. Cubase just has the best balance. So I have been using Cubase for several years now and the next step was to upgrade to the Lifetime Cubase Pro Version. I did not like the fact that the Pro could not record directly into a different soundcard. The soundcard jack was put right into the front panel. It was impossible to use it, with no option for external audio recording. This was not acceptable for me. Cubase 12.0.2 was a big disappointment for me.

I can import audio files from any of my PC hard drives into a song. Then I can use them as instruments or even use the song audio as audio parts for other tracks. I just have to launch my song and click on the song tabs on the left side of the window and it will transfer that audio file to my song. This works for drum kits or any other instrument.
I can even use some of my favourite Cubase.I plugins from AAX to work for me in Cubase.
I see no reason to switch to a more complex DAW just because Im using some Cubase plugins. For most people, its all about ease of use. Cubase MX. is more than adequate for most people. Cubase MX. also includes many of the same great features as Cubase does.
Im sure Cubase MX. will get more and more powerful over time.

Otherwise, it is very solid, and 12.0.30 seems to run, at least for me, very similar to 12.0.10 and previous releases.
